Troubleshooting Tip: Web rating overrides subcategories not showing in dropdown

Description	This article describes the issue where subcategories are not showing in the dropdown list when trying to add a new website to the ratings override in FortiGate.
Scope	FortiOS v7.6.4.
Solution	The following capture provides a visual representation of the issue. This is a known issue in version 7.6.4.  The user category still loads its subcategories; the issue is specific to the default subcategories only. A workaround is to set the subcategory via CLI, which functions correctly, but after saving the settings, the subcategory will still not appear in the GUI list, which is just a GUI issue. The following capture demonstrates the implemented workaround.   This issue has been resolved in: v7.6.5 (available to download from the Fortinet Support portal). v8.0.0 (scheduled to be released in March 2026). The timelines for the firmware releases may be subject to change.
