Troubleshooting Tip: Understanding the "User admin shutdown the device from the console" message

Description	This article explains the circumstances behind a FortiGate firewall being unexpectedly turned off with a "User admin shutdown the device from console" log message under Log & report -> Events -> System events.
Scope	FortiGate 6.0 or above.
Solution	This issue is not a problem with the FortiGate Firewall. This may happen when a FortiGate is used in virtual environments such as VMware, Azure, AWS or GCP where the admin or any script can shut down the host. The FortiGate will log it as “User admin shutdown the device from console”. To fix this, the user has to find the root cause of the shutdown in the host environment.
