Description

This article describes how to troubleshoot an issue where a secondary FortiGate cannot be registered on the FortiGate Cloud portal due to the absence of region selection during the registration process.

Solution
  1. When High Availability (HA) is configured with an Active-Passive setup, both FortiGates can be accessed via FortiGate Cloud. To register both FortiGates to FortiGate Cloud, see the instructions in Register all HA members to FortiCare from the primary unit - FortiGate documentation.

  2. While registering a secondary FortiGate, if an error is observed where region selection is not available to proceed:

  1. An alternate registration process needs to be followed to complete the registration of the secondary FortiGate: FortiGate needs to be registered using the Cloud Key. Select 'Add':

Enter the Cloud Key and select 'Now (Deploy FortiGate(s) to FortiGate Cloud now)':

  1. After registering FortiGate to FortiGate Cloud using the Cloud key, both of the FortiGates (primary and secondary) will show in the list.

Note: If the cloud key cannot be obtained from the Physical FortiGate device, contact the Reseller or Local SE representative to request the cloud key for the device.
