Troubleshooting Tip: Resolving HTTP Error When Downloading Files from Google Drive "Could not download "filename.txt": HTTP error"

Description	This article describes the steps taken to resolve an HTTP error encountered when downloading files from Google Drive through a FortiGate.
Scope	FortiOS, FortiGate, Web Filter.
Solution	Users are sometimes unable to download files from Google Drive, encountering an HTTP error:   Verify that the Web Filter is enabled on FortiGate under Policy & Objects -> Firewall Policy -> Check the respective policy based on the source traffic to confirm that the Web Filter is enabled. Navigate to 'Security profiles -> Web Filter -> Edit the Web Filter that is applied to the respective policy'. Verify that the 'File Sharing and Storage' category is blocked under 'FortiGuard category based filter'. Verify that a static URL for google.com has been added to exempt from further inspection. See this article for steps. Users will unable to download files from Google Drive, even though a static URL has been added to exemptions under the Web Filter. Finally, if the Web Filter is configured as Proxy-Based, change it to Flow-Based. Clear the browser cache and try downloading again after making the changes above.
