Description | This article describes how to troubleshoot the 'No Data' issue on the Fortiview Application Bandwidth. |
Scope | FortiGate. |
Solution |
The FortiView Application Bandwidth monitor widget is used to monitor the application consuming the highest bandwidth over the network. Once the widget is added, it looks something similar to the below screenshot:
The widget will show no data as it would take some time to fetch the data and thereafter it will show the graphical data on the application bandwidth widget.
If continuing to see the widget with 'no data', confirm the outbound policy setup for internet traffic that should have the UTM 'Application Control' applied to it. Without an Application control profile, the firewall will not be able to scan the application category and will show data as below:
After enabling the application control, the logs would show the application category and with that data, the Application Bandwidth monitor can fetch and display the data.
Once sufficient logs are collected for application-based traffic, the monitor will display the data and it is possible to set up different widgets for different application categories.
If the widget is still showing no data, try to delete and re-add the widget. If showing no data for specific applications, disable application-bandwidth-tracking under config system settings then wait for a few minutes before enabling it back.
From v7.6 and above, disabling application-bandwidth-tracking option moves to the config system global:
config system global set application-bandwidth-tracking disable end
