Description This article describes how to resolve a scenario where FortiGate is not showing the IPS license version in the GUI even if it has a valid license.
Scope FortiGate.
Solution

Under system -> FortiGuard -> License information, in the columns, intrusion prevention license information is not visible:

Verify using the CLI command:

 

diagnose auto-update version or diagnose autoupdate versions | grep "IPS Attack" -A 6

The intrusion prevention license and related information will be visible if IPS is enabled in the firewalls.

To enable the IPS feature, select System (1) -> Feature Visibility (2) and enable Intrusion Prevention (3), then Apply. As shown below, the IPS feature was disabled:

After enabling IPS it shows license information in the table.
