Description | This article describes how to resolve the 'Domain not available' error when trying to create a FortiDDNS entry. |
Scope | All FortiGate models (except model1000-series or higher or VMs). |
Solution |
When creating a FortiDDNS entry, it is possible to run into the error shown in the image below.
This error usually means that the DDNS domain entry already exists and another needs to be used.
In other cases, if this domain was in use on a device owned by the same organization and needs to be migrated to a new device, this can be done by opening a new ticket with Fortinet technical support and providing the following information:
After the ticket is picked up by a technical support engineer, the DDNS entry will be updated and confirmation will be provided on the ticket.
