Description | This article explains how to resolve issues where an HTTP/HTTPS website displays a blank page, loads indefinitely, or fails to load. |
Scope | All supported versions of FortiGate. |
Solution |
A legitimate website cannot be accessed through FortiGate, even though no UTM profile or inspection is applied to the firewall policy, and no blocking is observed in the forward traffic logs toward the destination site (as shown in the attachment below).
In these circumstances, it is necessary to check the website URL using Web Browser -> Developer Tools -> Network to determine whether the site is using a custom port. In many countries, certain websites use custom ports. When such traffic passes through the FortiGate firewall, the firewall policy must allow not only HTTP/HTTPS but also the specific custom port to reach the destination successfully.
