Description | This article describes how to troubleshoot when FortiAP appears offline on FortiGate. |
Scope | FortiGate, FortiAP. |
Solution |
In some cases, FortiAP might suddenly appear offline even though changes were not made to the FortiGate settings. The most likely reason is another device offering DHCP appears on the network while DHCP snooping is enabled on the interface or VLAN where the FortiAP is supposed to be connecting.
To confirm quickly if DHCP snooping is enabled on the interface, use the following command:
show system interface | grep -f "dhcp-snooping"
To resolve the issue, navigate to Network -> Interfaces, edit the desired interface, and disable the DHCP snooping. Alternatively, find and disable the rogue DHCP server that is causing the conflict.
