Description This article describes a solution for the issue where the GUI shows the error 'Unable to create certificate' when uploading PKCS12 (.pfx) certificates under System -> Certificates, despite the certificate being successfully imported.
Scope FortiGate v7.2.6, v7.4.0, v7.4.1, v7.4.2, v7.4.3, v7.4.4.
Solution
The error message 'Unable to create certificate' appears after attempting to upload a PKCS#12 (.pfx) certificate by navigating to System -> Certificate -> Create/Import Certificate -> Import Certificate -> selecting Type: PKCS#12 Certificate -> Upload File -> Create.

Despite this error, the certificate import will be successful and the status shows as 'Valid'.

This issue has been resolved in FortiOS versions 7.4.5, 7.6.0.
