| Description | This article describes a reason why an administrator may be unable to select 'memory' under Log & Report -> Security Events. |
| Scope | FortiOS |
| Solution |
The memory log option is not available under Log & Report -> Security Events, even when memory logging is enabled.
This is expected behavior. The log view is set to summary, which needs a historical log storage (for example: FortiGate cloud, Disk, FortiAnalyzer). The 'memory' option will be unavailable since it cannot retain enough history for this view.
Switching the log view from Summary to Logs will allow an Administrator to select the 'Memory' as this view will show individual log items.
For devices without an internal disk, there are also instances when FortiGate Cloud logging is used, in the logs under Security Events could show no results.
This is either due to a connectivity problem between the FortiGate and FortiGate Cloud, or could be caused by new FortiOS minimum firmware requirements by FortiGate Cloud, as per the article below: Technical Tip: Security enforcement change for FortiGates provisioned to FortiGate Cloud without act... |
