Scope FortiGate, FortiGate-Cloud.
Solution

This issue will occur if FortiGate-Cloud is not activated on the FortiGate or is activated under the wrong account ID/region.

It can be verified on the FortiGate GUI under Dashboard -> Status -> FortiGate-Cloud

  1. Make sure the status is activated.
  2. Hover the cursor over 'Activated' as shown below to verify the account ID. Login to FortiGate-Cloud with the same account ID (email) to be able to see FortiGate under Assets.

To verify in the CLI:

FortiGate # di test app forticldd 1
acct_id=test@example.com       <----- Account ID.

  1. Verify Server Location (region). The example above shows that the Server Location is 'Global' which means that FortiGate is under the 'Global' region of the FortiGate Cloud. Login to FortiGate-Cloud and change the region to Global and the FortiGate will show up.
