Description
This article describes how to transfer the DDNS record from the old unit to the new unit.
Scope
FortiGate.
Solution
Try to configure the FortiDDNS name that belongs to the old FortiGate in the new one, and it shows 'Domain not available'.
Just open a TAC support ticket and ask to release the existing FortiDDNS from the old FortiGate by providing the FortiDDNS name, new FortiGate serial number, the IP address that the domain should be resolving to, and old FortiGate serial number.
Once the confirmation from the TAC engineer is obtained, it is possible to register FortiDDNS on the new FortiGate again.
