Description

This article describes which SMB versions are supported for WAN Optimization.

Scope

FortiGate v7 and above.

Solution

FortiGate supports WAN optimization for SMBv1, SMBv2, and SMBv3 (unencrypted only) protocols when content caching is enabled within the WAN Optimization profile:

edit <profile-name>
config cifs
set status enable
set byte-caching enable (default: enable)
