| Description |
The article describes how to generate results in the speed test widget in FortiAnalyzer Secure SD-WAN monitor, FortiView widget. This article only discussed the use of the CLI speed test, which requires a license. |
| Scope | FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer. |
| Solution |
To be able to view the populated output of Secure SD-WAN monitor in FortiAnalyzer, the configuration must be done as shown in this article: Technical Tip: FortiView Secure SD-WAN Monitor
Once it is configured, the SD-WAN monitor widget will show the result. However, the speed test of the SD-WAN member is not automatically populated.
The widget will be populated when the speed test is done from the FortiGate.
There are a few ways to generate the speed test. This article only describes about CLI speed test, which requires a valid SD-WAN Network Monitor license
To generate a speed test using the CLI speed test, on FortiGate:
execute speed-test-server download
execute speed-test-server list
execute speed-test <interface> <server> {Auto | TCP | UDP} diagnose netlink interface speed-test <interface> <server> {Auto | TCP | UDP}
In FortiGate -> Log & Report -> System Event -> SD-WAN Events.

The same command in the third step can be issued multiple times to plot multiple outputs in the widget.
The list of options to generate a speed test is listed in the document SD-WAN Network Monitor service. |
