Description
This article describes the case when implementing SSL-VPN initial configuration from the GUI, the error 'Please set the default portal for all other users/groups in the authentication/portal mapping' appears.
This happens because no portal is selected by default for the implicit user group 'All Other Users/Groups', and it does not allow the configuration to be applied.

Solution
Edit the 'All Other Users/Groups' and add a portal to it, then the SSL-VPN configuration can be applied.
This error typically appears when attempting to change the SSL VPN listening port or save SSL VPN settings on FortiGate and occurs due to an incomplete or missing default portal assignment in the authentication/portal mapping section.
The Authentication/Portal Mapping section under VPN -> SSL VPN Settings must include a default mapping for 'All Other Users/Groups'. Without this, FortiGate fails to save the changes and produces the error.
Note: Any appropriate portal, such as full-access, web-access, or a custom-defined option, can be selected based on the specific SSL VPN access requirements.
