Description This article describes the OID fgHwSensorEntValue value change for a power supply in FortiOS.
Scope FortiGate v7.0+.
Solution
  • On v6.4, the value of OID (1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.101.4.3.2.1.3 fgHwSensorEntValue) is 0 when the Power Supply is operational.
  • From v7.0 onwards,  more details are reported about the status of the PSU, based on the below values:

bit 0: Presence detected
bit 1: Power Supply Failure detected
bit 2: Predictive Failure (not supported)
bit 3: Power Supply AC lost

When bit0 is set, we will have the binary value 0001 = decimal 1, which means the PSU is working normally. When bit0 and bit3 are set, binary 1001 = decimal 9, which means Presence detected but cable unplugged.
