This article describes how to restore the firmware via URL.
Scope
FortiGate v7.0 and above.
Solution
Pre-request:
Any webserver that has the firmware image available is necessary to be uploaded.
Once the IP can be reached by the webserver from the FortiGate, follow the below setup to upload the firmware.
Server # exe restore image url http://10.55.13.244/FGT_VM64_KVM-v7.4.1.F-build2463-FORTINET.out
This operation will replace the current firmware version!

Verifying the signature of the firmware image.
Warning: Upgrading to an image with Feature maturity notation.
