Technical Tip: Repurposing Virtual Wire Pair Ports as LAN/WAN Physical Ports

Description	This article describes how to reconfigure Virtual Wire Pair (VWP) on a FortiGate into standard physical interfaces.
Scope	FortiGate.
Solution	Procedure to Remove Virtual Wire Pair Configuration and re-purpose the physical port: Navigate to Network -> Interface -> Virtual Wire Pair. Select pair-1, and select 'vw1'. Select the Ref. (3) link to view associated references. Delete Policy 1, Policy 2, and the virtual wire 'pair-1'. Once these items have been deleted, the interfaces vw1 and vw2 will no longer be associated with a Virtual Wire Pair configuration. They will revert to functioning as standard physical interfaces and can be configured accordingly.
