Description This article describes how to do a POST (Power-On Self-Test ) on the FortiGate if it is failing to boot up.
Scope FortiGate hardware models.
Solution

When the FortiGate is failing to boot up, or a specific feature in the BIOS needs to be tested, it is possible to do a POST test on the FortiGate. 
This can be done by interrupting the BIOS when starting up, then by pressing [I] and then [P] in the menu:

If the FortiGate does not retain system time across reboots, the POST test can be used to determine whether the RTC (Real-Time Clock) check succeeds or fails.
