When the FortiGate is failing to boot up, or a specific feature in the BIOS needs to be tested, it is possible to do a POST test on the FortiGate.
Here is an example of a failed POST test due to a RAM problem:
If the FortiGate does not retain system time across reboots, the POST test can be used to determine whether the RTC (Real-Time Clock) check succeeds or fails. |
