Description

This article describes the number of last password stored in FortiGate when administrator disabling the option of Allow password reuse.

Scope

Solution

When password policy is enabled, user will have the option to disable reuse of the last password with the following command:

# config system password-polic
set reuse-password disable
end

In GUI, the option can be disabled by navigating to System -> Setting -> Password Policy and toggle the option of Allow password reuse to off (default setting: on):

When this setting is configured, the user will not be able to reuse the last 3 passwords recorded in FortiOS.

It is not possible to modify the number of last passwords stored.
