Description |
This article describes a FortiGate feature - Null device logging. |
Scope |
FortiGate |
Solution | To help determine external logging device size, FortiOS provides a null-device logging feature that collects the log statistics. Enable/Disable statistics collection when no external logging destination, such as FortiAnalyzer, is present (data is not saved).
Filters:
config log null-device filter set severity information set forward-traffic enable set local-traffic enable set multicast-traffic enable set sniffer-traffic enable set ztna-traffic enable set anomaly enable set voip enable set forti-switch enable end
Log statistics:
FG01 # diag test application miglogd 4 2024-09-02 10:05:44 info for vdom: root 2024-09-02 10:05:44 null-device 2024-09-02 10:05:44 traffic: logs=8050 len=8050, Sun=0 Mon=8050 Tue=0 Wed=0 Thu=0 Fri=0 Sat=02024-09-02 10:05:44 2024-09-02 10:05:44 event: logs=683 len=683, Sun=0 Mon=683 Tue=0 Wed=0 Thu=0 Fri=0 Sat=02024-09-02 10:05:44 2024-09-02 10:05:44 webfilter: logs=547 len=547, Sun=0 Mon=547 Tue=0 Wed=0 Thu=0 Fri=0 Sat=02024-09-02 10:05:44 2024-09-02 10:05:44 ssl: logs=492 len=492, Sun=0 Mon=492 Tue=0 Wed=0 Thu=0 Fri=0 Sat=02024-09-02 10:05:44 2024-09-02 10:05:44
