Description
This article describes the situation where FortiView displays statistics for real time (Now) but does not display statistics if 5 minutes, 1 hour or 24 hours is chosen.
Scope
FortiGate.
Solution
Check the configuration to determine if the report is enabled:
config report setting
set status enable
end
To be able to see these historical outputs, the report needs to be enabled because of SQL logging.
If the report is already enabled, then most probably the local database is corrupted and it will be necessary to rebuild it from existing logs by using the command:
execute report recreate-db
There is another possible reason. For FortiView to show historical information, there should be either disk logging or remote logging enabled.
The FortiView shows the historical information on the basis of logs stored via these methods.
If the disk logging is not available or disabled and FortiCloud logging is the only remote logging available. It should be ensured that the FortiGate is upgraded to the latest version. This is a requirement for anyone using a free FortiGate Cloud account.
Since February 28, 2025, any FortiGate device without an active FortiGate Cloud subscription should be upgraded to the latest firmware patch within the 7 days of a new FortiOS release. If it is not done on a FortiGate device, the FortiGate Cloud services will be paused for that device. The logs will not be forwarded to the FortiCloud until the FortiGate is updated to the latest firmware release if using a free FortiGate Cloud account.
