Solution

FortiGate Cloud management, analysis, and a one-year log retention license are required to resolve this issue.

To check the status of a FortiCloud subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the FortiGate Cloud portal: "https://login.forticloud.com/".
  2. Access the 'Assets' Section -> 'Asset list'.
  3. Search for the FortiGate Product and view the 'Subscription' column of the FortiGate.

If the user is on a paid-tier FortiGate and it shows a free license on FortiGate cloud (No subscription), use the CLI command 'diagnose fdsm log-controller-update' on FortiGate to refresh the license status.

diagnose fdsm contract-controller-update
fnsysctl killall fgfmd

Note:

On v7.4.4 and later, write access will no longer be available for the FortiCloud free version. To continue to have write access, a paid subscription license is required.
