Description

This article describes what to do when creating a static route with a Named Address.

Scope FortiGate.
Solution

When creating a static route, it is possible to face a situation where the 'named address' and 'address group' do not appear as expected, despite having already configured the address objects and address groups.

This issue typically arises because the 'Routing configuration' option must be enabled during the creation of both the address object and the address group.

By checking the 'Routing configuration' option, ensure that the address and address group are properly recognized by the routing protocols and can be successfully utilized in static routes.

Without this configuration, the system may not link the objects to the routing table appropriately, leading to their absence in the static route configuration interface.

Always verify that this option is enabled to streamline routing setup and prevent potential issues.
