Description This article discusses the false positive on Memory configuration check by HQIP (Hardware Quick Inspection Package).
Scope FortiGate v7.2.6/v7.2.7/v7.2.8/v7.4.1.
Solution

The HQIP test report shows the Memory configuration check is failing, showing the Value (96668) is lower than the threshold (96768).

======================== Fortinet Hardware Test Report =========================
SYSTEM
CPU Configuration Check....................................... PASS
Memory Configuration Check.................................... FAIL X
Storage Configuration Check................................... PASS
Network Configuration Check................................... PASS

FAILURE:
1. SYSTEM-Memory Configuration Check: [Total Memory] - Value (96668) is lower than threshold (96768).

The output of CLI commands 'dia hardware sysinfo memory' shows a difference in Total Memory value.

An example:

MemTotal: 98988208 kB <-----  Contradict with HQIP memory value.

This false positive has been addressed in FortiGate v7.2.9 and v7.4.2 or above. Refer to the release note for bug ID974449.

Memory configuration checks do not work as expected when using the 'diag hardware test system' command due to a memory threshold issue.
