Description This article describes how to check the process details using the command palette in the Firewall.
Scope FortiGate.
Solution

The command palette is a shortcut option available only in GUI to run commands on FortiGate and also can be used to navigate to different options using the command palette. 

 

This feature is accessible starting from v7.6.1


To use the command palette and view the process details follow the below instructions:

  1. Once logged into the FortiGate GUI, use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + P on Windows or CMD + p on MAC machines.
  2. Select the Run command.

  1. Enter 'Process Monitor' in the tab below the Run command and press Enter.

  1. The Firewall will navigate to the Process Monitor page, where the process details are displayed.

From v7.6.1, Diagnostic commands can also be executed using the Command Palette. To use the command palette and monitor processes using the diagnostic command, follow below instructions:

 

  1. Once logged in to FortiGate GUI use keyboard shortcut CTRL + P on Windows or CMD + p on MAC machines.
  2. Select Diagnostics.

  1.  Enter the command '/diagnose sys top' in the tab below the Diagnostics and press Enter.

  1. Enter the Refresh rate, Number of processes, iteration values and select run:

  1. The firewall will display the process monitor details.

Via CLI, run the below command to check the process in FortiGate:


diagnose sys top
