Description This article describes how to update the 'IPS Malicious URL Database' manually.
Scope By default 'IPS Malicious URL Database' will not be updated from FortiGuard. It is disabled.
Solution

To update the 'IPS Malicious URL Database' manually, it is necessary to enable the 'Block malicious URLs' in IPS profile.

 

 Go to Security Profiles -> Intrusion Prevention -> Edit profile -> Enable 'Block malicious URLs' -> Save.

After this trigger the update manually:

 

# diag debug en

# diag debug application update -1

#  execute update-now

 

After this 'IPS Malicious URL Database' will be updated, it is possible to verify as below:

 

Before update:

 

# get system status

IPS Malicious URL Database: 1.00001(2015-01-01 01:01) <----- Default database.

 

After update:

 

# get system status

IPS Malicious URL Database: 4.00517(2022-11-01 13:27)
