Description

This article describes how to unregister fortiManager from FortiGate.

Scope FortiGate.
Solution

Scenario:

The client’s HA environment is out-of-sync due to ‘system central-management’.

Checking on the primary firewall, the serial number is not attached anymore.

However, the secondary shows otherwise. Below is a replicated scenario of the client’s case.

The secondary Firewall has the serial number configured but the FortiManager IP is no longer defined.

Unset the type on central-management, but error -582 occurs:

FGVM010000108254 (central-management) # end

Please unregister-device from FortiManager first.

object set operator error, -582 discard the setting

Command fail. Return code -582

 

Solution:

 

Execute the command below to unregister the FortiManager on the device:

 

# execute central-mgmt unregister-device <SN>

Once this has been set, the type is automatically changed to ‘none’.
