Description

 

In some cases, the FortiGate detection will show the wrong vendor information.

 

This article will help to update the vendor information on FortiGuard Device Detection Service:

Scope

 

FortiGate Device Detection.

 

Solution

 

Check on the FortiGuard's Detection Service page via:

https://www.fortiguard.com/services/dds

 

For example, it showed the incorrect vendor information:

Select 'this form' and it will redirect to the dispute form page URL :

https://www.fortiguard.com/faq/iotdispute?mac_address

 

Note:

The file upload size limit is 2MB only.

After done fill up the form and captcha, select submit and wait for the information to update.

 

Once it is updated, the correct output is expected:

After that,  update the device detection service database on the FortiGate to reflect the updated information. 

 

To perform FortiGuard on the FortiGate, use this command on CLI :

 

# execute update-now
