Description

This article describes how to move the interface PPPoE when has references in and also when by GUI the option is not being shown to allow the movement of the interface to another to be attached.

Solution

If for some reason it is necessary to move/migrate the interface where the PPPoE is attached and  there is no option to migrate, only the attached Interface is necessary to follow the next:

  • On a CLI session (by GUI, serial, or SSH) access to the interface using the command 'config system pppoe-interface'.

  • Access the interface to edit the configuration:

  • There is an option shown as 'device'. This option attaches the PPPoE-interface to an Interface on the FortiGate, which could be a physical one or a logical interface. Set the new interface using the command 'set device'.

The PPPoE interface will be moved/migrated without losing the configuration and references:
