Note: The process detailed below removes existing firewall licenses and removes the serial number from managed assets. It should only be used when decommissioning a device before disposal. Visit https://support.fortinet.com portal and select Products -> Product List:
Select Product Serial Number and decommission this unit:
Go to More Views -> Decommissioned Products -> Deregister:
Note: When decommissioning a virtual machine or a device registered under three years, the following error will be displayed:

FortiGate VM cannot be deregistered, only FortiGate hardware devices.

If it is necessary to disconnect a device from a FortiGate Cloud logging and central-management without removing licenses or decommissioning the device, go to System -> FortiGuard -> FortiGate Cloud and select Logout in FortiGate GUI. |
