Description This article describes the issue when having the warning description 'SD-WAN member has no interface assigned to it' when hovering on the member that is part of an SD-WAN zone.
Scope FortiGate all versions.
Solution

The warning description mentions that the SD-WAN member has no interface assigned to it and as a result, it is not possible to delete the members.

Member 1 and Member 2 have no interface assigned to them and we are not able to delete the member as it is grayed out.

 

Note:

The issue can be the result of accidental deletion of the interface from the SD-WAN members in the configuration and during restore would result in the above warning. Example as in:

From GUI, it is possible to further remove after checking the following:

Verify if these Members are referenced in the SD-WAN rules:

After, remove these members from the rule:

Also, if present remove the Members from the Performance SLA if referenced there:

After removing the reference, it should be possible to delete the members:
