| Description |
This article describes how to configure the same IP address on different VDOM links on the root VDOM. |
| Scope | FortiGate 6.x.x and 7.x.x |
| Solution |
Diagram:
Now, upon trying to create a new Inter VDOM Link between VDOM B and Root using the IP from the same subnet range, it will respond with an 'IP address is in same subnet as the others' error.
Set the value of the allow-subnet-overlap option to 'enable' to give the two inter-VDOM links the same IP.
config vdom edit root current vf=root:0 config system settings set allow-subnet-overlap enable end
Now, the same subnet error will not occur and FortiGate will allow the user to set the same IP.
