Technical Tip: How to check FortiGate's firmware version on FortiCloud

Description

 

This article describes how to check FortiGate's firmware version from the FortiCloud support portal. 

 

Scope

 

FortiGate, FortiClient.

 

Solution

 

  1. Login to the FortiCloud support portal:

  1.  Check the respective device on My Assets.

  1. Select the device.

  1.  Select Version and Update.

  1. Check the FortiOS version. For this example, it is 6.00-0231.

  1. Go to Support -> Firmware Download.

  1.  Select Download.1.png

     

  1. Go to v6.00, since the FortiOS version is 6.00-0231.

  1.  Since it is 6.00-0231, not 6.02 or 6.04, go to the 6.0 folder.

  1. Look for the firmware. Here, that matches the build number 0231. It has been found under 6.0.4. The firmware of the device is v6.0.4.
