Description
This article describes how to revert a configuration change automatically between a certain period of time programmed.
Scope
FortiGate v7.2.
Solution
Configuration file save mode allow us to apply any change under our FortiGate without any impact, because it has the capability to revert the change automatically like a rollback, let´s follow our example:
Step 1: Go to System -> Settings -> Configuration save mode -> Manual.
Enable 'Revert upon timeout', it is possible to use 60 seconds as an example and select 'Apply'.
Step 2: Change Management IP 192.168.100.114 to test by IP 172.100.1.40.
The change looks like this:
Contact with the FortiGate has been lost:
After 1 minute, it is possible to get into the management IP, fortunately, it is not necessary to travel to the site and connect our console cable to change the IP manually.
