Description This article describes how to add a FortiGate-7000 series in FortiManager.

Solution

Environment Details:
• Chassis v7.0.14 (Build 0226).
• FortiManager v7.4.6 (Build 2588).

Step 1: Configure Central Management on the Chassis: On the Chassis side, configure the system central-management settings to allow it to connect with FortiManager.

Step 2: Enable ADOM Mode on FortiManager: Log in to FortiManager and enable ADOM (Administrative Domain) Mode.


Note:

After enabling, FortiManager will log out. Log back in to proceed.

Step 3: Create a New ADOM:

Step 4: Add the Chassis as a Managed Device:

  • Go to the newly created 7K-Carrier ADOM.
  • Add a new device.
  • Enter the IP address of the Chassis (must be reachable by FortiManager).

Step 5: Device Discovery: FortiManager will initiate the discovery process. Wait for it to complete.

Step 6: Import Chassis Configuration: Once discovery is successful, proceed to import the Chassis configuration:

  • Can import configuration per VDOM or all VDOMs at once.
  • For this guide, it will import all VDOMs in one go.

Step 7: Confirmation: Once the import is complete, the Chassis should now appear as successfully managed by FortiManager:

The Chassis is now successfully registered and managed by FortiManager:
