Description

This article describes how to export Firewall logs in CSV format.

Scope

FortiGate v6.4.X, v7.0.X,v7.2.X and v7.4.X.

Solution

There is no option available to export logs in the CSV format. The 'log' is the only format available. One workaround exists to import it in the CSV format.

Prerequisite:

Make sure the FortiGate is sending the logs to the FortiGate Cloud.
Follow this KB article Technical Tip: Sending logs to FortiCloud.

Solution:

Once the account is set up, log in to https://login.forticloud.com/ and 'double-click' on the FortiGate to import the logs.

Go under Logview -> Traffic.

Select Export.

The file that will be downloaded is in the CSV format.

Note: There is only a limit of up to 2000 log entries that can be exported in CSV format.
