Description

 

The article describes how to find the options to 'Edit' and 'Move' firewall policies in FortiOS.


Scope

 

FortiGate.

Solution

 
A policy can be modified or moved in FortiGate using the following method:
  1. Go to Policy & Objects -> Firewall Policy to select the firewall rule(s) that are to be changed or moved.
  2. Using the mouse, 'select' and drag up or down to re-order the policy.

Note: 

It is also possible to view the policies in two modes: 'Interface Pair View' and 'By Sequence'. Each option is shown below:

To edit the policies, except for in the method explained above, the user can double-click on the desired policy and make the desired changes.

 

On versions 7.4.x and v7.6.x, the view of the Firewall policies will have additional options, and two different layout options, the 'New layout' (Improve the performance of the GUI policy list) and 'Classic Layout'.

However, the initial idea remains regarding editing and moving firewall policies, even with these versions.
