This article describes SHA-2 support in relation to FortiGate software and hardware.
Solution
The FortiASIC Network Processor hardware architecture does support SHA-2. (stating from CP8, NP6)
Also, XLR FMC/AMC hardware modules support SHA-2 for SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512.
