Description | This article describes the log message, the FortiGuard Update Failed, 'Skip FFDB components because available memory is too low' seen in the general system events logs. |
Scope | FortiGate. |
Solution |
In the Log & Report -> System Events -> General System Events, it may be observed the following message:
date=2025-08-08 time=07:07:20 eventtime=1754654840262351768 tz="-0500" logid="0100041001" type="event" subtype="system" level="critical" vd="root" logdesc="FortiGate update failed" status="update" msg="Skip FFDB components because available memory is too low."
Before there is a request to update the packages from FortiGuard updates, a check is done to ensure there is enough memory. FortiGuard updates may be skipped if there is not enough memory usage.
If the memory usage is inferior to or equal to the red threshold minus 250MB, only skip FFDB and retry later (scheduled update only).
