Description The article explains the possible reason for the missing power supplies and incorrect voltage information in the command 'execute sensor list' output.
Scope FortiGate-6000/7000 v7.2.10.
Solution

When the command 'execute sensor list' is run on the Master FIM, it may display a different number of sensor entries compared to when the same command is executed on the secondary FIM.

Temperature, voltage values, and the number of power supplies in the sensor list output may vary. This does not indicate a problem with sensors, nor is it a hardware issue.

During system boot, before mastership is determined, both FIMs may create local System Management Card (SMC) sensor data structures. After mastership is established, the master FIM queries the Chassis SMC, while the secondary FIM queries the local SMC. This mismatch can lead to issues such as incorrect high or low temperature readings and discrepancies in the number of sensors

On v7.2.10, the correct sensor information can be retrieved by logging in to SMM and running the 'status' and 'sensor_threshload 'commands: Common SMM CLI operations , Sensor data record (SDR)

This issue has been resolved in v 7.2.11 under the BUG ID  1095936: Resolved issues 7.2.11

Two new commands have been introduced to query the Chassis sensor information.

execute chassis-sensor list

execute chassis-sensor details

For the local sensor details 'execute sensor listcommand is still valid.
