Scope
FortiGate HA license.
Solution
The HA license was created primarily to compete against some other vendors, such as Meraki, where in a HA cluster, only 1 UTM subscription license was needed. The new HA license allows customers to consume 2x Entry Level FortiGates with 1 subscription bundle license. Note that the subscription bundle is limited to Enterprise, UTP, and ATP bundles and does not apply to other subscription licenses. In general, for HA clusters, both units need to have a UTM license; the HA license allows customers to buy only 1 bundle subscription license.

The following models are currently supported:
FortiGate 40F.
FortiGate 40F-3G4G.
FortiGate 60/61F.
FortiGate 70/71F.
FortiGate 80/81F.
FortiGate 80F-BYPASS.
FortiGate 80F-DSL.
FortiGate 80/81F-POE.
FortiGate 100/101F.
For future models: TBD.
Supported FortiOS:
v7.2.9 / v7.4.6 / v7.6.1.
Each HA License needs to be ordered in a pair.
Only the following subscription bundles are eligible for the HA license. All other ala carte subscriptions are not supported.
