Description | This article describes why the FortiGate DLP firewall is not blocking image text. |
Scope | FortiGate. |
Solution |
DLP on the FortiGate firewall will work based on blocking the file by scanning the file for the FortiGate DLP Sensors.
Example: As the FortiGate DLP sensor is configured to block the Doc file which contains the keyword 'Example', if the doc file contains the text image with the keyword 'Example', FortiGate will not scan this DLP keyword. This is because FortiGate requires Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to scan text inside of image content.
However, this is not available in FortiGate in either GUI or CLI.
Note: The OCR feature is available on the FortiProxy. |
