Description This article describes why a FortiGate might be greyed out when trying to select it in FortiGate Cloud Automation.
Scope FortiGate, FortiGate Cloud.
Solution

In FortiGate Cloud, it is possible to create some Event Handlers to deliver notifications in case some logs are received or some events occur.

Notification profiles are configured in Analytics -> Incidents & Events -> Event Handler -> Notification Profile. Here, an email or Microsoft Teams channel could be configured for notifications.

After that, in Analytics -> Incidents & Events -> Automation, it is possible to create an automation script to send a notification in case an event occurs.

An Event Handler and a Notification Profile must be selected. After these steps, a FortiGate must be chosen; this is the FortiGate whose logs would trigger the event.

In some cases, the FortiGate is greyed out in the list, making it impossible to select it.

This is because a valid FortiGate Cloud is required to use Event Handler and Automation.
Hovering over the greyed-out FortiGate will show more info about the FortiGate and subscriptions.
