Technical Tip: FortiGate-50G GUI problems after upgrade to v7.0.17

Description

This article provides information about the current problem, where the GUI admin does not load some pages for FortiGate-50G on v7.0.17.

Scope

FortiGate-50G.

Solution

Current GUI problems are:

• Creating new user groups will fail in loading the page.
• Editing or creating new firewall policies will fail on the loading page.

Workaround:

1. Either use the edit option available within the policy or edit via the CLI, the issue is reproducible when the policy is opened and then edited.
2. Create a new policy via CLI, and later the GUI can be used to edit it as explained in the above pointer.
3. Open a TAC case to get a special branch fix for FortiGate/FortiWifi 5XG series v7.0.17.
