Description
This article describes agent based FSSO FortiCarrier license activation and deactivation.
FortiCarrier license provides 2 keys.
One for FortiCarrier activation and another for deactivation.
Example:
Carrier license v5: 4D2O-BOC7-TV7P-6PXN-WUPQ-TO4T-F4.
Carrier unlicensed v5: PKIZ-4KXY-HO3H-IPE2-WEOQ-YR5A-EI.
Solution
In FortiOS version v5.6 and v6.0.x, when applying the FortiCarrier license, the FortiCarrier configuration is reset to the factory default settings.
With FortiOS 6.2.0 and later, the basic system, interface, and routing settings are retained to avoid a full factory reset.
When a FortiCarrier license is loaded to FortiOS, a message is displayed informs which settings are retained and not returned to factory default settings.
Command:
Fgt (global) # execute forticarrier-license
<activation-code> Format:0000-0000-0000-0000-0001 or <license-key> Format:0000-0000-0000-0000-0000-0000-00
- The same command is used for both register and unregister. The activation-code/license key is different.
Example:
Fgt (global) # execute forticarrier-license 4D2O-BOC7-TV7P-6PXN-WUPQ-TO4T-F4 - To register
Fgt (global) # execute forticarrier-license PKIZ-4KXY-HO3H-IPE2-WEOQ-YR5A-EI - To unregister
- The license key can be found on the support portal. Click on "show license key" to see the register key and unregister key.
FortiOS 5.6.
- Activating and deactivating the FortiCarrier license on v5.6.7.
