Description This article describes the explanation of the Event Logs referred to as 'SSD TRIM started'.
Scope FortiOS.
Solution

The message 'SSD TRIM started' indicates that the SSD TRIM process has been initiated. This process helps maintain the performance and longevity of solid-state drives (SSDs) by marking the invalid data blocks for deletion, allowing the drive to perform efficiently. This event does not indicate a hardware issue.

The SSD TRIM frequency can be configured from under the global configuration:

config system global

    set ssd-trim-freq [never|hourly|...]
    set ssd-trim-hour {integer}
    set ssd-trim-min {integer}
    set ssd-trim-weekday [sunday|monday|...]
    set ssd-trim-date {integer}

This event does not affect the HA until and unless the SSD fails and if the SSD failover 'set ssd-failver enable' is enabled under config system HA. The article reference to enable SSD Failover for High Availability Cluster is given below:

Technical Tip: HA Failover on SSD failure
