Technical Tip: Design change on grouping policies in sequence groups

Description

This article describes that the 'By sequence' view is either available after a migration from another vendor, or manually set up in CLI.

The sequence view has been removed in the recent FortiOS versions, as a consequence of redesigning the firewall policy page with the focus on speeding up the load time.

Scope

FortiGate v7.4.0+.

Solution

The following functionalities have been lost as a consequence:

• Firewall policy: No dropdown view for IPv4 and IPv6.
• Firewall policy: No interface pair view (workaround is to use the filter on the interface-pair chart).
• Firewall policy: No export function.
• Firewall policy: No custom grouping section (CLI global-label).
