Determining the Maximum Limit of the Post and Pre-Login Disclaimer banner for admin login:

Total Size: 32.8 kB

BASIC WORD COUNT STATISTICS

Total Words = 4698

Total Characters (with space) = 32768

Total Characters (without space) = 28071

If the limit is exceeded, the Save Button will be grayed out, and will be unable to save the data.

It will show the message Size in kB and display the error Replacement message is too large.

To enable the Pre-login and Post-login disclaimer banners on FortiGate, refer to the following articles:

Banner Line breaks:

Banner messages are displayed in the GUI HTTP/HTTPS and CLI SSH and Telnet access. It is possible to customize the appearance of these messages by crafting the message from scratch whilst respecting the limit of 77 characters per line.

Anything after 77 characters will be automatically shifted to the next line.

The example below will not cause unwanted line breaks on GUI or CLI access:

config system replacemsg admin pre_admin-disclaimer-text

    set buffer "line1 - 9--------------------------------------------------------------------

line2

line3

"

    set header none

    set format text

end
